NS Series
Nxtar's Perimeter Intrusion Detection System is an all fiber optics sensor solution.
We revolutionized the way perimeter intrusion detection works by combining hardware zones
with full passivity. Each NS controller is equipped with intelligent algorithms to reduce false / nusiance
alarms to the lowest level. All controllers function as an independent unit and multiple units can be
linked together for virtually unlimited distances. The controllers are complemented by our sensing
fibers which can be fitted on fence, walls, and underground.
Stand Alone Controllers

The Nxtar NS standalone models have built-in monitoring and calibration software with a LCD
displaying the information as would be seen on a PC. The stand-alone models are designed for
the consumer market in mind. With this model, the user has all the monitoring and calibration
capabilities all at his/her finger tip without the need for a separate PC. Standard cable lengths
can also be fitted to this controller for volume distribution.

Outdoor Controllers

The Nxtar NS outdoor modules are more compact and are designed for mounting outdoors where
space inside the outfield cabinets could be limited. Calibration is done via a PC through the
RS 232 connection (a USB adaptor cable may be used), and the monitoring and calibration software
is included with the controller. The software has an user-friendly GUI and offer high
flexibility during calibration. The outdoor modules are equally as precise and as reliable as our
rackmount models with the difference being in the smaller size. Water-proofing can be added with
a simple NEMA4/IP66 type enclosure.

Rack Mount Controllers

The Nxtar NS rackmount controllers are made for mounting inside standard 19" racks. They have
active cooling to ensure stability and reliablity inside the hot environment typically present in
the control rooms. Calibration is done via a PC through the RS 232 connection (a USB adaptor cable
may be used), and the monitoring and calibration software is included with the controller. The
software has an user-friendly GUI and offers high flexibility. |

Sensing Junction Boxes

The sensing junction box receives the light source from the insensitive leading fiber and
transmits it to the two arms of sensing fiber. All connections inside the box is plug & play,
and only a screwdriver is required for installation. It can be mounted on fence, on fence posts, or buried
underground out of the way and is rated at IP67 for waterproofing.

The sensing junction boxes are an integrated part of the sensor system. One sensing junction box is required per zone.
Terminal Junction Boxes
 |
The terminal junction boxes terminate each arm of the sensing fiber. They can be fixed on the fence,
fence post, or buried underground out of the way. Similar to the sensing junction box, they're waterproof
(rated at IP67) and shockproof.
All connections inside the box are plug & play and require only a screwdriver for installation.

Leading Fiber

The leading fiber carried the signal to and from the zones.
It is armored for insect resistance and long life, and has a UV resistant coating.

Sensing Fiber

The sensing fiber senses sound, pressure, and vibration.
It can be mounted on fence or buried directly without any additional protection or conduit and has its own UV resistant coating.
