Nxtar PIDS

1. How is Nxtar Fiber Optics Perimeter Intrusion Detection System different than conventional systems?

Nxtar P.I.D.S. uses the latest technologies In using fiber optics as the sensing elements in our System. As only light source is passed through the Optical fiber, it is immune to external affecting Interference like Electromagnetic, Radio Waves. It is totally passive- need no electrical powering And is the only approved medium for highly Explosive and grounds where electromagnetic Interference are present.

2. If it is so much better than conventional System, why are conventional system still available in the industry?

Nxtar understand that for different location, assets, the requirement level for security varies. Every equipment had their limitation, for example, for curved or elevated compound, Infra Red sensor will not be able to perform well. However, if the owner is required to detect intrusion in a small indoor compound, then IR sensor may be ample. Should the Secured Site is next to a high power electrical substation, non Passive equipment will not be able to perform well. A rainforest will not require Fiber Optics PIDS as the assets that they are protecting may not be able to afford or sustain such civil modification. And let's not forget the importance of budget constrain That every end-user will have to obtain the right system.

3. How can we implement other Security Devices into Nxtar PIDS?

Using high technology Fiber Optic Communication network methods, Nxtar is able to monitor a remote site few kilometers from the control station. We utilize our Nxtar Fiber Optics Converter NC-200S to transmit not only signals from the secured zones, but also able to transmit CCTV signals back to the control room. With clever integration of PTZ camera, user can also control the PTZ camera remotely when there is an breach in perimeter. All these will be accomplish with only 01 fiber optics cable.

4. Installation of security projects requires preparation and manpower. How to counter this problem?

Because Nxtar understand that installation is A major cost of the whole project, Nxtar had invest Heavily into our R& to make installation as easy as Possible. The simple "Plug and Play" design enable the Installer to complete the installation with only simple Hand tools. There is no need for outdoor splicing and The armored fibers are design to be buried directly Underground or deployed onto fence without the Presence of PVC conduit. A worker is able to complete 400m of Fence deployment In only 4hrs.

5. What happened when the Sensing Fiber is cut? Will it paralyzed the whole system?

As intruder are more intelligent nowadays, we have to factor in sabotage as a big obstacles. Therefore Nxtar's PIDS is cleverly design and deployed in a parallel formation as this is the only way to ensure all other zones will function properly when one fibers is cut. The PIDS will also release a TAMPER alarm to the Control station. Nxtar PIDS had also managed to detect multiple intruder coming in from different part of the whole perimeter, a feat which many of our competitor had failed.

6. Nxtar PIDS system is deployed in Parallel Distribution Formation. Doesn't it use more Fibers?

Nxtar's R&D understand that usability is crucial in a Security solution. We know that it is very difficult to demand a big perimeter of 3km to be of the same geographic conditions. For example: one part of the perimeter may be exposed to high vehicular traffic and therefore noise level will be high. Therefore, our system when connected in Parallel Formation is able to have individual settings and calibration for each zones. This custom settings will lower false alarm rate to less than 1 FAR/yr.

1. What are the typical applications for the Nxtar PIDS Systems ?

Installed either alone or as part of an integrated solution, the Nxtar PIDS intrusion detection system provides perimeter security in fence-mounted, buried underground, and wall-top mounted sensor applications.

2. Where has the Nxtar PIDS system been deployed?

The Nxtar PIDS system has been deployed to protect government facilities, military bases, airports, power plants, petrochemical and water treatment facilities, and other high end commercial assets, with complete end-user satisfaction.

4. Can the Nxtar PIDS sensor cable be used to transmit video and data signals?

The Nxtar PIDS network can also be used to transmet any kind of signal through fiber : Video, Audio, Data and Ethernet.

5. Can the Nxtar PIDS system be controlled and monitored remotely?

Yes, it is possible to control and monitor the system remotely from a LAN, WAN or GPRS network.

6. Can the Nxtar PIDS system automatically control PTZ cameras?

Through the Nxtar PIDS network, it is possible to integrate to the system all industry fixed or PTZ cameras to be controlled and automatically pointed to the spot of intrusion based on the alarm location reported by the Nxtar PIDS system.

7. Does the Nxtar PIDS system need to be recalibrated after the initial installation?

The Nxtar PIDS does not need to be recalibrated in the course of normal operation.

8. Can the Nxtar PIDS system be expanded if the perimeter changes or a gate is added?

The Nxtar PIDS can be extended or modified easily to accommodate changes or additions in the perimeter.
