Perimeter Intrusion Detection System
Our Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) targets a wide variety of markets
such as military base, prison, warehouse, factory, power plant, logistic facility airports,
national borders, oil refineries, military bases, and pipe lines. In fact, our solution can
be applied to virtually unlimited distances through connecting multiple systems.
At Nxtar, the perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) features several cutting
edge technologies. First, hardware zoning is utilized to enable each zone to function
independently, ensuring the seamless operation of the rest of the system even when the fiber
is cut in one zone. Second, the plug and play design requires only a screwdriver to complete
installation. Third, equipped with Intelligent Identification Algorithm, the system can
reduce the false/nuisance alarm to the lowest level by discriminating actual intrusions
from global noises (rain, snow, wind, hail storms).
Nxtar's P.I.D.S. is able to integrate these crucial features into our system,
making our system extremly powerful and versatile.
Structure
Nxtar P.I.D.S. uses the optical fibers to detect intruders based on three important factors :
Unlike conventional security system we do not sacrifice the sensitivity range to reduce false alarms.
Nxtar's P.I.D.S. is designed to pick up the whole sensitivity range while filtering the signal through our
intelligent discrimination system. The result is that only real intrusions will trigger the alarm. Nxtar
added features such as Global Noise Detection (GND) to differentiate rain, snow, wind, from a real intrusion.
This system allows us to detect intrusion even during heavy rain. Consequently, the nuisance alarm rate is reduced to
almost zero, and the false alarm rate to even lower levels while maintaining the system sensitivity to real intrusions.
In hardware zone application, a perimeter is segregated into different
detection zones deployed with several sets of sensing fibers.
On the other hand, software zone-based systems have basically single
sensing line that run the entire perimeter.
Each Nxtar controller comes with 1, 2, 4 or 6 zone(s) of detection and multiple
systems can be linked for virtually unlimited distances. All our zones are
hardware based and are advantageous against software zone in numerous ways.
Detection zones that are hardware-based enable each zone to function independently,
and therefore can be individually calibrated in accordance with various environments
in the same perimeter. It is almost impossible to demand that a perimeter, especially
a large one, is of the same landscapes. Consequently, our systems can accept individual
zone settings for finer monitoring solutions.
For similar reasons, hardware zones preserve the operation of the rest of the system
when one area is damaged. The damaged sensing fiber, without shutting down the controller,
can be rapidly repaired within two hours. Such efficient reparation procedure not only
helps economize on material and labor expenditures, but also leaves the remaining
perimeter secure during reparation.
This design enables the user and installer to connect all optic fiber with SC connectors.
A screw-driver is the only tool needed for the installation.
The plug & play design requires only a screwdriver to complete optic fiber installations.
There is no need to expensive and fragile splicer to connect the fiber cables to their respective
junctions/terminal boxes.
This feature not only streamlines the fiber installation process, but also drastically saves
installer’s time, labor, and cost.
Full passive components are the design that requires no out-field processors and
electrical power to the outfield components.
At Nxtar, our system is one of the few who is able to achieve a 100% passive components
outfield. Our system does not require any electrical powering once installed outfield.
This is a very strong feat as it requires no deployment of electrical cables for powering
and signal amplification for long distance transmission. Equipped with full passive
components, our system is immune to electronicmagnetic interference (EMI), radio frequency
interference (RFI), and lightening.
Features
Hardware Zone
This feature enables each zone functions independently, preserving the operation
of the rest of the system when one area is damaged. The damaged area, without shutting
down the controller, can be rapidly repaired within two hours. In other words, the
remaining zones still function to secure the perimeter during the repairing process.
CCTV/IP Camera Networks
Using proven CWDM technology, the Nxtar Fiber Optic Communication Ring made possible
by the Fiber Optic Communication Interface Module (FOCIM) allows for long distance
data/audio/video transmission with nodes along the ring using only one fiber. This not
only lowers overall system cost, it also ensures stability and eliminates bandwidth
concerns.
Plug & Play Installation
The plug and play design with SC connectors facilitates swifter installation by using
only simple hand tools. There is no need for expensive and fragile splicer to connect
the fiber cables to their respective junctions/terminal boxes.
Full Passive
Full passive components are the design that requires no outdoor processors
and electrical power to the outdoor components. In this case, the system is immune
to electromagnetic interference (EMI), radio frequency interference (RFI),
and lightning.
Easy to Repair
At Nxtar, each detection zone comes with two arms of sensing fiber. When one arm
of fiber is cut, it is easy and efficient to repair by replacing the damaged part
with one new arm. The restoration can be completed in two hours without use of
expensive splicer.
Invisibility
When buried underground or installed on wall-top with gravels covering on it,
the sensing fiber is completely invisible, thus leaving landscapes unchanged.
This prevents tampering and intruder by-pass of the detection area.
Intelligent Identification Algorithm
The system with built-in Intelligent Identification Algorithm can reduce
the false/nuisance alarm to the lowest level by differentiating actual
intrusions from global noises (rain, snow, wind, hail storms).
